Truth Bomb by OVD : What if China invades Taiwan

 Hey Everyone,

  So because if Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine there is talk of China attacking Taiwan. First let me say after Putin's barbaric attack staled and looks to be failing, the Chinese thought twice about Taiwan. If Putin had had a fast successful invasion, you can bet your bottom dollar, China would have attacked. Thinking the west reaction would have been weak and that they stood a chance. They don't. If you think Ukraine is a tactical nightmare remember Taiwan is an Island with modern Western armed forces.

Taiwan's Military is 290k active military personnel and almost 3 million reserves(that would be activated at first sign of aggression from China).

it has 1160 Tanks and 1714 Armored Fighting Vehicles. About 2k artillery pieces plus 440 self propelled guns and 126 rocket artillery pieces.  It has 814 Military aircraft, 129 fighters, 189 multi-roll and 237 Helicopters. Also it has a Navy with 4 Destroyers, 22 Frigates, 1 Corvette and 4 subs.

More than enough to repel any amphibious or Air landing. It's doubtful China would get a beach head after multiple costly attacks. 

China military is huge but like Russia it's under trained and crap. With the same logistical problems. Add that Taiwan is an Island and China is screwed. Where the US and allies could resupply Taiwan by water or air with no problem. 

The only option China would have is to try to bomb them like Russia is trying now. Which would turn the world against them too and they know it.

  So I wouldn't worry about it too much. At least right now. Of course we should be supplying weapons now to increase that fire power.

    I have been seeing some talk about how China is watching what is happening in Ukraine, and the world's response, with an eye toward their desire to "absorb" Taiwan. They've wanted to do that ever since the revolution in China. They've already got the rest of the world pretty much afraid to even call Taiwan a country. I believe the US sold them out once Nixon recognized China and the US turned back on Taiwan being recognized as the ROC. Politicians in the US will never directly answer a question about whether Taiwan is recognized as a sovereign country.

      I suppose they will be kept in their current status as 'in limbo' while the rest of the world dithers about whether they exist or not.

 Hey Everyone,   So the war in Ukraine has been bloody but not much has happened the last month in regards to land controlled by either side. The HIMARS are doing serious damage to Russian command and supplies and they only have 4 of them. The Russians said they took them out but that has been proven to be a lie. The only reason Ukraine isn't dominating and taking their land back is the west isn't supplying enough. It's obvious the west IS considering this a Proxy war. That means their goal is to bleed Russia by keeping the war going. This is why the Ukrainians are not getting enough support. I warned of this but now it's clear that it is the case now.    There is talk of giving them 30 HIMARS and F-15's, F-16's, F-18's(Hornets are used by the USMC like the A-10's) and A-10's.  Hey Everyone,   So the front lines haven't moved much but the fighting is fierce along the whole line. It's still winter but spring is around the corner so both sides are gearing up for spring offenses. The newly promised Tanks from the west still haven't arrived and there isn't enough of them to make a difference. The Russians are losing thousands of Troops but their real purpose will be seen soon enough. You have to understand Russian war doctrine to see what the real Russian plan is. So lets talk about that. The Russians throughout history have used the same playbook. They invade or instigate a war thinking they will win fast. Truth Bomb by OVD : Personal update

 Hey everyone,   If anyone is even still reading this...My feeling of isolation is getting bad. Really bad. Being cut off from Facebook was bad enough. I haven't heard from a lot of friends from real life for more than a year now. Twitter helped and I made some new friends and was able to connect to a bunch of fellow Veterans. That's gone now too. So now I kind of drift from day to day with little to no contact with the outside world. It's demoralizing to say the least. I'm down right depressed and don't see any future for myself anymore. I've always been a very social person and now I have no way to reach anyone but this and the numbers of people that even read this anymore has dwindled to a couple. Soon I'll probably stop bothering with this either.    My pain levels are through the roof. I got only an hour of sleep last night(and why I'm typing this at 5 am. Pain meds and pot cookies combined didn't help. My left leg is now starting to get as bad
